Cant get a video off my memory card. Had to move video with

Resolved Question:

Can't get a video off my memory card. Had to move video with the USB cord to my computer. Does it take a special memory card to do this?

We have a sony hdr-cx150. Installed the PMB disk and have the video in a file there but can not get it to windows movie maker so I can incorporate it with my other info and edit it? How can I email it? Can't seem to do anything but send it to youtube and that is not what I want to do.

Thanks for your question.

No it doesnt take any special memory card. Any memory card or USB flash drive that your computer will recognize should do the job.

Just copy and paste the video to your desktop.
and then move it to an USB flash drive and then you should be able to transfer it.

open window movie maker and open the file on your desktop.

also window movie maker cant open all files and edit all of them.
so you may need special editor to edit the video off your cam.

that is just it. I can not copy the video. it is in this PMB program that sony supplied the disk for and I can not do anything but view it and when i right click over the file there is no copy. I can convert it to something (i can get you that info if it would help). It would let me rotate, delete, send to media like youtube. How else can i copy.

Hi

press CTRL+C and it will copy
then go to desktop
and press CTRL+V

see if you can copy it that way.

try dragging it to desktop as well.

or
open it and then click FILE->SAVE/SAVE AS
and see if you can save it to other desktop.

It could be just this video.
Try recording other videos and then see if you can transfer that one.


Also see if you can see the video on your computer.
connect the card to your computer using a card reader.
you can get card reader for $10 from Bestbuy

after connecting the card go to MY COMPUTER
and you should see the card as a drive there.

right click on that and select EXPLORE
you should see the video there

That is what i am doing. The computer is reading the card and that one picture is there and not the videos. Thought you might know something about this camera?

hi

i think there is some other problem.
please right click on the card in MY COMPUTER
and then click FORMAT

then try recording another video and watching it.

it could be that that particular video is in camera memory.

i never saw a card that wont show the video files when connected directly to computer
